The LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Leakens

Somehow, Somewhere, there’s a Droid to blame

Word got around earlier today about a new Star Wars game based upon the latest film in the series. Details around the game were leaked onto the Italian Amazon site, though the references were removed soon after. Like an Empire trying to chase down plans to a superweapon, it was a little too late. Users across multiple social media shared images, trailers or just news of the game, meaning the only hope of keeping it secret had been snuffed out. Whether this proceeded as the relevant marketing teams had foreseen is unknown, but what’s known is that the game is now listed on the Xbox Marketplace.

The game summary not only says that it will allow players to experience gameplay based upon the events of the film, but that it will also bridge the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. This is a relatively unknown area, with far less being written or shown about this time in the series now that a new canon had been established. The summary also references two new features – Multi-Builds, which references different paths (without much further detail), and Blaster Battles, which mentions using the environment to stand against the First Order.

The release date listed on the Xbox site is for June 2016, meaning that it won’t be all that long until we can run around as Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8, and others.
